Gallery on a Cart

Here I am! It's the Spadazzle Gallery on a cart. I set up for 3 days last week and 3 days this past week. Super cold weather had me in a jacket with gloves on at the cart, thankfully it warmed up. I worked with a nice group of vendors, we even had a Christmas Party on Friday afternoon in the food cout. Now I am cleaned up for Christmas and taking ome time off. Will be back in January! Now off to watch Christmas movies, make cookies and peppermint bark, ornaments, gift wrapping and get the last of the Gingerbread house goodies. Hope you have a nice holiday :)

Art Class: Cereal Box Collages

Found these collages online and thought the kids would like them! They were fun to make. I am still working on mine. It is amazing: Once you upgrade to artist quality glue it is hard to go back to the white school glue, I had to stop so I could use my super good glue sticks at home. The kids didn't complain about the glue, I guess they are used to it :) You can find samples of the collage work here: http://www.cerealism.com/ Here are some of our samples! Enjoy :)

Christmas Ornament Exchange

I received this cute ornament the other day in the mail from Philippa in Australia. As soon as I find out if she wants me to link her, I will :) It is soooo cute on my tree! Now just to finish my ornaments so I can get them out! This year I am participating in the International Ornament Exchange thru Cake and Pie. You can visit their blog here: http://cakeandpie.typepad.com/

Here is the ornament!

Holiday Bazaar

Pictures from the Holiday Bazaar. This was my first large set up like this, I never realized how much space I could take up....... Done with all that, now just listing tons on my Etsy and trying to find a few more places to set up inexpensivly this season :) You can check out my new sign I made for my table- it says : Spadazzle, Sparkly, Sassy & Sunny. I made it using a canvas board and collaged everything to it- it has worked good for indoor shows. Well, that's all for now- be sure to check back- I'll be putting my holdiay designs in my shop soon :)

Finished Happy At Hastings-Was not as busy as I had hoped.......... but any kid that walked thru the Cafe' came over to see what I had. A couple kids made ATC's to take home and all the kids left with postcards. Been working on a few other things- a huge show next month, my art classes at the Boys and Girls Club and setting up my workshops. I'll have to post pictures later :)

Collage Class

Yesterday the collage class I teach at the Youth Center really seemed to enjoy the activity. I had about 12 participants. I taught them about ATC or ACEO cards. Incase you are not familiar with the terms they stand for Art Trading Cards and Art Cards Editions and Originals. The kids all enjoyed making the miniature art, I think they liked the fast process, some were able to make 3 cards in the session. They also seem to like the sealing process using Mod Podge and the shiny effect it gave their art, plus it is like painting and using crds made from Goldfish Cracker boxes, cereal boxes, etc. (the Goldfish seemed to be the most popular). Overall there were some really nice ATC that were made. Even though said they could trade they all wanted to keep them for themselves :) I think we may have to extend the activity to next week along with card making! AND of course I forgot the camera :(

Artwork moves

Dropped off the 2 collages : Gumballs and Kame the Turtle to the Children & Family Services. They are on loan there until I finish their paintings. Still trying to think what kind of painting to make them. Maybe they would like my new character Happy????

Preparing for the Youth Center Art Class

Here you can see my preparation for collage work. I painted around 90 pieces of paper this past week to prepare for the class I am teaching at the Youth Center. Last week when I taught another group of older kids to paint this way they couldn't believe they were "allowed" to paint so crazy! Kids even said their Art Teacher never lets them paint like this!

Art Show at the Art Center

Here are 2 of my pictures from the Art Show. They will be hanging in the Gallery until July 21st. Kame is the Japanese Turtle with baby that was inspired by the Okinawan Ocean and animals that live there. Gumballs...... I was having Artist block and needed something colorful and fun, then I saw a gumball machine- about 10 hours of cutting, arranging and glueing later- Gumballs was complete. Enjoy!
